To rent a motorbike in Bangkok as an expat, please prepare the following:

• 📄 Passport copy (original required for verification)
• 🏢 Work permit or work contract OR Condo/House rental contract (minimum 6-month duration)
• 💰 Monetary Deposit:
  
  • ฿2,000 for 125cc motorbikes
  • ฿3,000 for 150cc and above

For Tourists: 

🚨 Fatboys motorbikes are for use within Greater Bangkok only.

Choose one of the following deposit options:

Option 1:

• 🏨 Hotel or Airbnb booking confirmation in Bangkok (must match rental dates)
• 💰 ฿5,000 cash deposit (deposit can also be made in foreign currency, ex. US Dollars, Euros. You can also make the deposit via Credit Card with 4% surcharge, but please note you will receive the deposit back in Thai Baht cash.)

Please Note:
You are not required to present a Thai or international motorbike license to rent a scooter or motorbike from Fatboys, unless you are renting a 300cc or larger vehicle. However, according to Thai law and our rental agreement, all customers must hold a valid driver’s license while operating any motorbike. If a customer is found riding without a valid license, they will be fully responsible for any fines, penalties, or legal consequences.

Fatboy’s Motorbikes has 2-day minimum rental period (48 hours). If you choose to rent a vehicle for just 1 day, you will still need to pay the full cost of a 2 day rental.

All of Fatboy’s rental motorbikes and scooters are for use ONLY in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, and certain areas of Nakhon Pathom. Failure to follow this policy will result in an AUTOMATIC BREACH OF RENTAL CONTRACT and will result in the customer forfeiting his/her deposit.

Fatboy’s Motorbike Rentals is the only Scooter Rental shop that has In-Shop Motorbike Mechanics, which means that all of Fatboy’s Motorbikes are personally serviced and checked by a Fatboy’s Motorbike Mechanic every time they are returned. Safety is our top priority and something we take extremely serious!

All Fatboy’s shops have between 1-3 Motorbike Mechanics on site. Access to our mechanics at anytime during our shop hours is 100% free of charge, and you can have bike serviced regularly throughout your rental. Please inform us if you feel the slightest issue with our Bikes, and we will be happy to fix it .

At Fatboy’s Motorbikes, we offer the following payment methods for our services:

– Credit Card (4% surcharge)
– Google and Apple Pay (4% surcharge) – please note that Apple Pay will only work if your Apple Device is not set for Thailand)

All Fatboy’s Motorbike Rentals have 3rd party medical insurance included free of charge. This covers up to 35,000 Thai Baht in medical fees in case of accident. This complimentary insurance does not cover damages to the bike or 3rd party vehicles in case of accident.

If you would like Premium Insurance for your motorbike rental which covers damage to the rental bike and 3rd party in case of accident, please contact us directly for further details. Please note that to obtain Premium Insurance, you must have a valid Thai Motorbike License on International motorbike license deemed acceptable by the 3rd party insurance provider.

All Fatboy’s rental cars do come with 1st class commercial car insurance for peace of mind. Please note that all renters of a Fatboy’s rental car must have a valid Thai or International driver’s license to qualify for coverage for the 1st class commercial car insurance.

Yes, all 4 Fatboy’s Motorbike Rental shops offers free motorbike delivery for monthly rental contracts (up to 10 kilometers from a valid Fatboy’s Branch). If your location is further away than 10 kilometers, we can still deliver, but there will be an additional service fee. Please contact us if you would like to know how much our service fee will be to deliver to your particular location.

Please note that motorbike pickup is not free. For a motorbike pickup quote, please contact one of our Fatboy’s team.

Want a motorbike delivery for a daily or weekly rental? This can be arranged for you at a fair delivery cost. Please contact one of our Fatboy’s team for details.

Extending your scooter or motorbike rental contract with Fatboy’s is very easy. Simply contact your local Fatboy’s branch via one of the available options here, and inform the team that you wish to extend your contract. Once payment has been settled for the contract extension, the Fatboy’s team will confirm the extension in the physical contract. It’s that simple!

Yes certainly. All Fatboy’s rental cars come with 1st class commercial car insurance — this is the insurance type that will cover all drivers regardless of vehicle ownership. Please ensure that if you are renting a rental car in Bangkok, that you are renting a vehicle with this type of insurance! If you are renting a car with only 1st class personal insurance, you are committing insurance fraud! For full coverage amounts of the insurance policy, please contact a Fatboy’s staff via one of the options listed here.

Furthermore, all Fatboy’s rental cars are fully fitted with GPS tracking systems for theft prevention or for assistance in the case of a lost vehicle. This GPS system is included as part of the car rental fee.
