For Bangkok Expats:

To rent a motorbike in Bangkok as an expat, please prepare the following:

  • 📄 Passport copy (original required for verification)
  • 🏢 Work permit or work contract OR Condo/House rental contract (minimum 6-month duration)
  • 💰 Monetary Deposit:
    • ฿2,000 for 125cc motorbikes
    • ฿3,000 for 150cc and above

For Tourists: 

🚨 Fatboys motorbikes are for use within Greater Bangkok only.

Choose one of the following deposit options:

Option 1:
  • 📄 Passport copy (original required for verification)
  • 🏨 Hotel or Airbnb booking confirmation in Bangkok (must match rental dates)
  • 💰 ฿5,000 cash deposit (deposit can also be made in foreign currency, ex. US Dollars, Euros.)

 

Please Note:
You are not required to present a Thai or international motorbike license to rent a scooter or motorbike from Fatboys, unless you are renting a 300cc or larger vehicle. However, according to Thai law and our rental agreement, all customers must hold a valid driver’s license while operating any motorbike. If a customer is found riding without a valid license, they will be fully responsible for any fines, penalties, or legal consequences.

For Bangkok Expats:

To rent a motorbike in Bangkok as an expat, please prepare the following:

  • 📄 Passport copy (original required for verification)
  • 🏢 Work permit or work contract OR Condo/House rental contract (minimum 6-month duration)
  • 🪪Valid Thai or International car license copy 
  • 💰 Monetary Deposit:
    • ฿5,000 baht cash deposit (deposit can also be made in foreign currency, ex. US Dollars, Euros.)

For Tourists: 

Choose one of the following deposit options:

Option 1:
  • 📄 Passport copy (original required for verification)
  • 🏨 Hotel or Airbnb booking confirmation in Bangkok (must match rental dates)
  • 💰 ฿10,000 cash deposit (deposit can also be made in foreign currency, ex. US Dollars, Euros. )

Yes. Fatboys Motorbike Rentals has a minimum rental period of 2 days (48 hours).

If you choose to rent a scooter or car for only 1 day, the rental fee will still be charged at the 2-day rate.

This policy applies to all vehicles at both of our Bangkok locations:
Fatboys Ekkamai (Sukhumvit 65) and Fatboys Sathorn (Narathiwas Ratchanakarin Soi 8).

Fatboys rental motorbikes and scooters are permitted for use within Greater Bangkok only, including:

  • Bangkok

  • Nonthaburi

  • Samut Prakan

  • Certain areas of Nakhon Pathom

Traveling outside of these approved areas is not permitted.

Any customer who takes a Fatboys rental motorbike outside of the approved service zone will be considered in automatic breach of the rental contract, and the full security deposit will be forfeited.

If you are unsure whether your destination is within the approved riding area, please contact our staff before your trip. Our team will be happy to confirm and assist you to ensure your rental remains fully compliant.

All motorbikes and scooters at Fatboys Motorbike Rentals in Bangkok are professionally inspected and serviced after every single rental.

Fatboys is one of the only scooter rental companies in Bangkok with full in-house motorbike mechanics at both locations (Ekkamai & Sathorn). This means every bike is personally checked by a qualified Fatboys mechanic each time it is returned, before it is rented out again.

All Fatboys motorbike and scooter rentals include free third-party medical insurance, covering up to 35,000 THB in medical expenses in the event of an accident.

  • This complimentary insurance does not cover damage to the rental motorbike.

  • It also does not cover damage to third-party vehicles or property.

  • Riders are responsible for any fines, damages, or liabilities not covered by the third-party medical policy.

Yes. Fatboys Motorbike Rentals offers free motorbike delivery for monthly rental contracts at both our Ekkamai and Sathorn locations.

Free Delivery (Monthly Rentals Only)

Free delivery is available for monthly rentals within:

  • Up to 15 kilometers from a Fatboys branch (Ekkamai or Sathorn)

If your delivery address is more than 15 km away, we can still deliver your motorbike, but an additional delivery fee will apply. Please contact our team to receive an exact quote based on your location.

Motorbike Pickup Service

Please note that motorbike pickup is not free.
If you require us to collect the bike from your location, a pickup service fee will apply. Our staff can provide a quote upon request.

Delivery for Daily or Weekly Rentals

Motorbike delivery for daily or weekly rentals is also available for a fair and reasonable fee. Pricing depends on distance and location within Bangkok.

Yes. Fatboys Motorbikes offers a Rent-to-Own (Installment Payment) Program on a case-by-case basis for qualified customers in Bangkok at our Ekkamai and Sathorn branches.

This program is designed for expats and long-term residents who want to purchase a motorbike with monthly payments instead of paying the full amount upfront.

Fatboys Rent-to-Own / Installment Program

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, you must:

  • Hold a valid Thai Work Permit

  • Present a valid passport

  • Hold a valid Thai visa

All applications are reviewed and approved individually by our team.

Payment Terms

  • Contract Length: 4 months

  • Monthly Payment:
    Agreed installment amount + 1,000 THB interest per month

  • Payment Schedule:
    Payments must be made on time each month

  • Late Payment Fee:
    150 THB per day for overdue payments

Ownership & Documents

Once all 4 monthly payments are completed, the customer will receive:

  • The Green Book

  • Official ownership documents

Please note:
Name transfer at the Department of Land Transport (DLT) is not included and must be arranged and paid separately by the buyer.

Important Conditions

  • From the date of the first payment, the buyer is fully responsible for:

    • Repairs

    • Maintenance

    • Road tax

    • Insurance

  • All bikes are sold “as is.”

  • No warranties are provided.

  • No refunds: If the buyer cancels or stops payments, all money already paid will be forfeited.

Default & Repossession Policy

If any payment is more than 14 days overdue, Fatboys Motorbikes reserves the right to:

  • Repossess the motorbike

  • Terminate the contract

  • Forfeit all payments already made
